BoatExtra SARL ("BoatExtra", "we", "our") operates the BoatExtra maritime marketplace at boatextra.com. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal data in accordance with Moroccan Law 09-08 on the Protection of Individuals with Regard to the Processing of Personal Data.
2. Data We Collect
We collect information you provide directly (name, email, phone number, payment details when booking), information generated by your use of the Platform (searches, bookings, messages, reviews), and technical data (IP address, browser type, device identifiers, cookies).
3. How We Use Your Data
We use your data to: process and manage bookings; communicate with you about your account and bookings; improve the Platform and personalise your experience; comply with legal obligations; detect and prevent fraud; and send you marketing communications (only with your consent, which you can withdraw at any time).
4. Legal Basis for Processing
We process your personal data on the following legal bases: performance of a contract (to fulfil your bookings); legitimate interests (platform security, fraud prevention, analytics); consent (marketing emails); and compliance with legal obligations.
5. Sharing Your Data
We share your data with the operator you book with (name, contact information, and booking details necessary to deliver the service); payment processors (Stripe, CMI) under their own privacy policies; cloud service providers who process data on our behalf under data processing agreements; and regulatory or law enforcement authorities when required by law.
6. Cookies
We use essential cookies to keep you logged in and process bookings. We also use analytics cookies (with your consent) to understand how the Platform is used. You can manage cookie preferences in your browser settings or via our cookie banner.
7. Data Retention
We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services. Booking records are kept for 5 years for legal and accounting purposes. You may request deletion of your account at any time — we will erase your data unless we are legally required to retain it.

Under Moroccan Law 09-08 you have the right to: access your personal data; correct inaccurate data; request deletion of your data; object to certain processing; and withdraw consent at any time. To exercise these rights, email privacy@boatextra.com.
9. Security
We use industry-standard security measures including TLS encryption, hashed passwords, and access controls. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. We will notify affected users promptly in the event of a data breach as required by law.
10. Children's Privacy
The Platform is not directed at children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from minors. If you believe a minor has provided us with personal data, please contact us at privacy@boatextra.com.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. We will notify registered users of material changes by email. The date of the latest revision is shown at the top of this page.
